The third opening scene is from the gangster movie 'Goodfellas', directed by Martin Scorsese, which includes the following conventions:
- Production company logos (Warner Brothers)
- Titles/credits - including the name of the production company, the producer, the director, names of the main stars, source material, indication of era
- Indicates genre (gangster/crime)
- Introduces the main characters, particularly the central protagonist (Henry Hill) whose voiceover we hear
- Introduces setting (New York)
- Creates enigma/mystery (what's the noise in the car, who is the man they kill, why do they kill him?)
